Alex Pardee

Alex Pardee is an artist from cali who specializes in apparel design and album works mostly, all his works are super detailed and super dark as you will later see. Working in various mediums he primarily uses pen, paint and it appears occasionally illustrator or something else.  He is also a writer and blogger, you can follow his blog at http://eyesuckink.blogspot.com/ His art to me is just very dark and strange, i love it, i feel like you would have to be some what of a warped individual to produce art like this. His strong focus on the obscene and shocking, the disgusting, the violent, and his use of blood in some pieces, its there for a reason and i think that in many of his pieces he wants that meaning to stay some what of a mystery and open for your own interpretation. but thats just my take on it, im gunna attach some more sick photos and let you check him out.

the used album cover he just did

alos check out justapoz magazine!   peace outt

this week for the transformation project i am going to take old thrown out hard back books and craft a pair of football shoulder pads touching on what our education is REALLY about to the school. now just to figure out how to cut the book covers and get this project rollin. over this weekend i found a silk screen set up and went a head and made my self a print for a t shirt for the upcoming game, it read, i <3 pounding beavers. that was about the high light of artistic abilities this weekend. Ill post more when i figure out how ill cut these books i guess.

Too much shit going on in my life, and this project definitely does not get me in any sort of a better mood, i thought i had ideas now i have so many ideas that my ideas are back down to zero. All my ideas seem cliche and stupid, how am i supposed to formulate ideas when i dont even know what i want to inform you about. maybe i dont want to inform any one of anything, who am i to tell any one anything? this stupid fucking idea of a pun seems more unoriginal to me than anything, and yet i keep coming back to it. i desperately want to say something, but not if its not worth saying, not if its something any dumb ass can just spout off about. Its hard to become inspired when it seems like a lot of it has been done and relevant topics continue to be covered. i just want to forget this and get these damn exams out of sight and mind. guess ill go try my luck at the dollar store on lunch tom and hopefully find something that will do since i apparently have nothing i wish to REALLY say.  what do i really even want to say? that buying expensive clothes are stupid, that if we dont recycle and start taking care of our world then it will go to shit? that too much of anything, good or bad, is a bad thing. That all people fall victim to pressures the pressures of being a youthful person such as drugs and sex. Why cant i think of anything good to say about you world?

Some Everyday objects

Brian Jungen from Vanvouver likes to take prefabricated commodities and re craft them into his own works of art, here he uses pieces of  a plastic folding lawn chair to create the skeletal structure of a whale

Japanese artist Yuken Teryua takes everyday objects like paper toilet rolls, mcdonalds bags, and in this picture gift bags and cuts them using the lighting to his advantage to capture the silhouette of the trees, in the bottom picture the inside of a happy meal bag is shown

Here Maurice Scheltens arrange coat hangers in different ways in several different interesting arrangements.
I cant step away from the damn word pen, pin, pins.. i want to work with metal pins but i have never done that, i don't know how to use a sauntering iron, i dont even know if thats how you spell it i just use spell check. I want to use something cheap and if possible recycled... i have so much going on its hard to even think about some stupid object right now... i pick tacks or some sort of metal pushpin, formally they are chrome, in silver or gold, hard metal, sharp, capable of drawing blood or being very uncomfortable upon being stabbed with one, they are used to hang things, they are shaped like nails almost, little mushrooms of steel, smooth.

its function to me seems basic, it can hang things or it could be used to poke holes in things. context doesn't usually effect a pushpin it seems to me, does that mean this is a good object or horrible object? hopefully after this artist research i will have a better idea than a pushpin.

BLAHg.

Armature is looking really really good, but im getting realy worried about the stretching of the spandex material and the tri-angles fitting correctly. I figure if every inch on the long poles i take a round file and file holes then that will give me a little better of a notch to hold on to. i have wood dawls but im afraid the ten i have will not be enough and that i will have no good way of cutting them in class at an exact angle. the ball is in the air from here!

Dana Irving

Some how i was looking at art and found a mural done in portland by an artist named Dana Irving. She is a romanticized landscape artist who uses very unique techniques. Some of her murals are realistic and natural while others are romantic landscapes abstracted into twirls and curves. Although the artwork is a tad girly for my liking, i have really always enjoyed romantic landscapes and just really epic sights that many don't get to experience on paper in 2-d, let alone see such places in real life.

These are some examples of her use of curvy lines, vivid and unique colors, and just over all style of how she portrays the landscape, Enjoy, here is her portfolio http://www.danairving.com/individual1.html

AT long last...

Finnally the armature is complete, gluing and cutting took all weekend. Now for the "hard" part of completing the inside of the armature. I plan on starting with card board for my triangles to figure sizes and then moving on to actual materials next class. On a brighter side note, U of I won their game kicking the shit out of south dakota, and BSU beat VT, good weekend for college football! Now i just gotta figure out what material to use for the inner armature, it might be a little trickeh.

Construction issues

The armature i have recently been constructing is turning out to have a lot more math than expected, finding the correct angles that correspond with the size of each box is very precise, this shit is hard. note to self, next time use wire...  Armature is coming along nicely however, construction should be completed by today, now just to figure out the material of my "planes" and how to create this illusion of space, sinking back into the small square. Im thinking this is going to be the challenging part, from the side view i want it to look broken up but parallel, to do this i will more than likely have to mark the space between each plane evenly,  the problem is the size of the triangles, i don't know how im going to get them inside my frame or how to size them... all i can keep thinking is, this better f-ing work.
