Today I looked at some of the architectural works of Frank Gehry and saw some pretty wacky and intense building designs. I saw that his personal residence first got his architectural style recognized and his career had boomed since. Designing such buildings as Walt Disney Concert hall, experience music project in seattle, and dancing house in Prague. His style is classified as De-constructivism, a style contrary to modern architectural ideas in the idea that in Modern arch. form follows function, where in de-con, it does not. He uses bold forms to distract the viewer almost from the real functionality of the building. After blowing up in the arch scene he became that of rock star status which would be siiick! I read that he is strongly inspired by fish, he likes creating buildings with forms inspired by fish, he started a jewelry line inspired by fish, he loves fish - seems fishy to me... Anyway, Pretty cool, however, when reading the criticism posted about him, i will tend to agree, his buildings are A WASTE OF MONEY, there are large portions of the buildings that are not use able, this to me is unacceptable and seems irresponsible of him to create, but hey its not his money building this place ...The building above is an example of his wacky forms, especially pertinent in the inspiration for this piece is his love of fish.
